Job Overview

Vaxa Steelworks is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of structural steel projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze structural steel components and systems for various construction projects.
  • Develop detailed plans, drawings, and specifications using CAD software.
  • Perform structural calculations to ensure the safety and stability of steel structures.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure design feasibility and adherence to project timelines.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, project documentation, and construction schedules.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in structural engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on steel structures.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and structural analysis tools (STAAD, SAP2000, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
